Birch is an excellent firewood, but it burns quickly, so it pairs best with other woods that kiln dry more slowly, such as elm and oak. Birch burns over medium to high heat and does not emit smoke or sparks. It gives off a romantic blue flame when burned and is often the wood of choice for decorators because of its unique beauty.

buy seasoned wood

Freshly cut wood can contain up to 45% water. Kiln-dried birch firewood contains only 10-15% moisture. Well-seasoned wood is easier to chip, produces more heat, and burns cleaner. A longer burning time is achieved if the wood is burned properly beforehand.
