RUF Briquettes

Briquettes have long been a popular fuel source in Europe. Compact, easy to make and even easier to use, briquettes have long been a convenient fuel source for your business. There are so many benefits to making and using wood briquettes that many North American companies are just beginning to realize them.

Ecological Damage

Ruf briquettes are made from recycled scrap and waste from companies like wood processors and sawmills. Briquetted wood consists of a variety of by-products including sawdust, shavings, and shredded debris. Convert waste into a fuel source and save storage and transportation costs.

Briquettes are also a CO2-neutral fuel source that is significantly friendlier to resources and the environment than charcoal. Because they are made with hydropower and without the use of chemicals, they can even be used for personal camping and BBQ cooking.

Efficiency

Briquettes are consistently better than firewood in terms of burn time and heat generated. With an average moisture content of less than 10%, wood briquettes cause less chimney deposits and draft than wood briquettes. Wood briquettes also ensure a cleaner burn than charcoal or wood.

The production process can also be easily integrated into existing waste management systems. Simply load wood by-products into the hopper and run the machine. The operation of the briquetting machine requires very little daily maintenance or supervision.

Combustion properties:

RUFs produce a medium heat output so not the best if you need very high heat, but they do burn for a long time. While they don’t burn as hot as our other briquettes, they do give off an even, glowing heat for hours, making this one of our all-time favorite briquettes. If you need a fuel that burns long, slowly, and gives off good heat, then this briquette is for you.

RUF briquettes are highly versatile but are particularly well suited to large kilns where their size and density ensure long burning times. They have an extremely long glow time and keep many furnaces running overnight.

None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-products and are held together only by compression.
